Daily Cheapskate Primer: How to Save Money at Jet.com

Every store has a savings "personality" or "profile," meaning that there are certain things you can do (or avoid doing) to save money that are unique to that store.

Here's my profile for saving money at Jet.com.  Naturally, as time goes on, the rules for saving money at Jet will change and I'll try to keep this updated that you can continue to use it as a reference.

1) Always spend $35 or more at Jet.  Getting to that magic $35 total entitles you to free shipping (and in most cases, free 2-day shipping) as well as the ability to use most Jet promo codes.

2) Waive free returns if you are reasonably sure that you are keeping the item.  If you're ordering an appliance that you've never used before, don't waiving free returns.  But if you're ordering paper towels, tissues or the like, by all means, waive that free return.  Remember, you're not waiving your right to return an item; you're waiving your right to have Jet pay the return shipping costs.

3) Pay for your order with a debit card.  You'll score an additional discount of 1.5%.

4) Look for the "smart item" logo when you shop and try to buy more than one item in a single purchase.  When you buy multiple items, Jet saves money on shipping, so they actually reward you for buying more in one visit.  You'll see them shaving off money from your total every time you add another smart item to the cart.

5) Check out Jet's Wholesale Store.  It's kind of a misnomer, because it's open to everyone and you will find some deeply discounted bulk items there. 

6) Use the best offer that's available for when you want to make your purchase. Jet's current best promo code:  as of today, 11/17/16, new customers can save 15% off their first three purchases at Jet when you apply the promo code TRIPLE15 at checkout.
