Amazon has got this 6-pack of LED 60-watt equivalent non-dimmable soft white light bulbs for $17.99 ($3.00 per bulb) with free shipping.  (Last year, we bought a bunch of LEDs in Home Depot for $7.00 each, grrrrrr.)  

These bulbs got 4.5 out of 5 stars over 3,236 customer reviews and are an Amazon #1 Best Seller.  LEDs are much more efficient that incandescent bulbs and don't contain the mercury that you'll find in CFLs (though they do contain lead, please be aware).  They also look like normal light bulbs and not spiral noodles from outer space.
