Amazon announces Prime Day 2016!

Amazon has just announced that Prime Day 2016 will be taking place on Tuesday, 7/12/16 with 100,000 new deals just for Amazon Prime members!  If you're not a member of Prime, make sure you get on the train and sign up here for Prime membership 30-day free trial so that you can take advantage of these deals.

There will be three types of deals available on Prime Day:

• Prime Day Spotlight Deals:  Spotlight Deals feature top brands and popular items with deep discounts that last until Amazon runs out of stock. These are the best deals you'll find on Prime Day.
• Amazon Lightning Deals: a Lightning Deal is a promotion that lasts for a short time, usually just a few hours.
• Prime Savings and Deals:  promotions that run all day or within Prime Day.

Here's what I gleaned from reading all the press releases about Prime Day:

• In addition to Prime Day Deals, Amazon will offer Countdown Deals for Prime members from 7/5/16 through 7/11/16, including, for example, a 32" TV bundle with a Fire TV Stick for $119.99. Countdown Deals will include gadgets on-the-go, summer travel items, foodie items, outdoor living items, back-to-school items, in-home essentials, deals on TV series and blockbuster movies available to rent or purchase, and more.
• There will be deals in all shopping categories.
• It's a GREAT time to buy a tv.  There will be twice as many TVs available as on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Holy Moly.
• There will be TONS of toy deals all day long.
• There will be great prices on media:  tv shows and films. 
• "There will be benefits to being an owner of an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or Amazon Tap on Prime Day."  I guess this means that there will be deals announced through these devices that wont be available anywhere else.
• Twice as many small business sellers are participating in Prime Day 2016 as did on Prime Day 2015.
