$4 off Costco-brand Kirkland Atlantic Salmon
Just in time for the upcoming meat-free Nine Days, Costco has got a no-clip automatic coupon on their frozen Kirkland Atlantic Salmon, $4 off each 3-lb. bag. Out here in the Denver Costco (YMMV), these 3 lb. bags are $19.99, so that comes to $15.99 or $5.33 per lb. Limit 3 bags per visit.
I will not eat frozen fish because I absolutely hate the fishy, "old" taste that comes along with freezing, BUT I make a strong exception with the Kirkland brand. Somehow, they have refined their freezing process so that their salmon never tastes fishy, even if it has been in the freezer for a while. There are usually seven pieces in a 3 lb. bag (they are roughly 7 oz. each before cooking, pretty substantial) and Costco individually wraps each piece, so they don't clump together. Each piece is also a center cut, so you don't have to worry about the odd sizes that come along with using an end piece. Knowing the quantity allows me to plan my meals accordingly: I use one piece for a main dish and half a piece for an appetizer. And (for my kosher-keeping readers,) living in a community outside of New York, where hechshered frozen fish is challenging to come by, it's nice that this salmon comes with an OU on it.
This clip-free automatic coupon is good from 7/12/12-8/5/12, so make room in the freezer next week. Time to stock up, not just for the Nine Days, but (since these stay so well in the freezer) also start thinking about Rosh Hashana and Sukkot.
