Today, 7/24/12 only, when you buy a $100 Target gift card online, you'll pay just $90. This 10% discount will show up at checkout (no promo code needed) and is good only through midnight EST tonight.
While this is a great discount, it's not a stellar discount. Remember that if you have a Target RedCard, you already get 5% off all merchandise purchases and also get free shipping online. If you take advantage of this gift card offer, you'll get the equivalent of 10% off (which is awesome) but you'll lose the free shipping benefit if you use the gift card online.
Just wanted to run that math with you. If you don't have a Target RedCard, this is indeed a stellar offer. And even if you do, 10% off still beats 5% off. I'm buying one $100 gift card and paying for it (at least partially) with my $50 in American Express gift cards that I received from last month's prepaid AmEx offer (way to roll one great offer into another) and then putting the gift card into our Sharf iPad Savings Fund stash. (That's $100 worth of Target gift card for $40 out-of-pocket for me.)
