Great deals and discounts from your AAA membership

Do you have a AAA membership?  I've had one since I learned to drive, and their stellar roadside service has bailed me out of countless of instances of locking my keys in the car, flat tires, dead batteries and similar mishaps.

But besides their roadside rescue service, did you know that AAA has got tons of other useful discounts for its members?  These discounts vary widely by state, but some are universal.  For example, I never check into a motel or hotel without first asking about their AAA discount, which is usually 5-10% off.  Also, most museums and exhibits offer a AAA discount as well, but rarely display it at the ticket counter...just ask them when you pay your admission fee.

There are tons of other retail discounts that come with your AAA membership, and the best way to find yours is to go to AAA.com and log in (or, if you're not a member, use your AAA membership number and create a login).    You'll be redirected to your state AAA club website; click on "Discounts" to see what is available to you.

Just to give you an idea of what you could find, here are some of the AAA discounts that I've taken advantage of over the years.  These discounts come from the AAA Colorado and AAA New York membership websites, and I'm guessing that no matter where you live, you'll see some similar AAA discount listed, but YMMV.

• Best Buy Geek Squad:  save 15% off most services and 20% off online services.
• Sears:  5% off all online purchases.
• Bath and Body Works: 25% off all online purchases.
• Dell: 2% on all televisions, 5% on any non-Dell branded electronics or accessories, & 10% on Dell branded electronics.
• Target:  $10 off $100 purchase.
• Manhattan parking:  50% off at a Central Parking garage.
• AMC Movie tickets:  get a pack of ten AMC Silver tickets for $6.20 per ticket.

Log in to your state's AAA website with your membership number now to see what discounts are available to you.  AAA is a great resource for saving money.
