My not-as-frugal-as-I-would-have-liked barbecue

My husband and I are having a July 4th Barbecue this year.  My goal is to throw the whole shabang for about fifty adult guests and twenty children for no more than $125.  Read about it here.  Follow along and see how my frugal barbecue planning evolves.

Well, all good planning must come to an end.  We had planned on having about fifty adults for our Fourth of July barbecue, but that number has, er, blossomed a little.  In any case, I blew my budget out to $175.  :(  The best laid plans of mice and men...

I'm super-busy today getting ready for my guests, but I will definitely post pictures either later tonight or tomorrow and walk you through my expenses.  My husband thinks that we still did pretty well for a large barbecue, and that I under-budgeted initially, but I'm not sure.

More later.

Happy Fourth of July to you, my very dear Daily Cheapskate readers.  In between the burgers and the fruit salad, please take a moment today to give thanks for our freedom and our independence. May God continue to bless our wonderful country.

  1. Look up "Inflatable salad bar buffet" on Amazon. It's on sale right now for $10, and it might be a hilarious/useful addition to your next July 4 party. Or not...
