Do you miss having non-sugar sweeteners on Pesach? The KLP "pink stuff" is readily available, but it tastes awful, is unhealthy and has a horrific aftertaste. Yuck.
We usually just make do with using sugar for a week. But this year, we don't have to.
This year, a company called California Delight is doing a special run of Kosher for Passover sucralose called Sucralis. Sucralose is the same thing that Splenda is made from. So, just to be clear, Sucralis is NOT Splenda (which is NOT kosher for Passover). It's a generic version of it that has a Star-K and CRC Kosher La'Pesach certification.
It can be purchased over the phone by calling 323-725-1045 during business hours. I have negotiated a special price for DailyCheapskate readers:
- $5.50 per box of 100 packets
- $6.50 per 200 ml bottle
- $6.50 per bottle of 150 tablets
When you call them, before you do anything, you must give them the promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE (or tell them you found them on this blog) to get this price. Shipping on these items is free, but there is a three item minimum per order. They will take your credit card information over the phone and ship it right out to you.
We bought three boxes of the packets last year, and somehow, with all of our guests, we ran out of it before YomTov was up! I'm picking up a few extra boxes this year to include with KLP tea that I'm going to package-up as a hostess gift.
These prices are actually not much more expensive than regular Splenda. This special Daily Cheapskate deal is only available through 3/10/13.
