Save money on shopping before you get out the door by buying discounted gift cards at Raise

One of the most frequently asked question that I get from Daily Cheapskate readers is this:  "if I'm too busy to clip coupons and don't have the patience to hunt for deals, what the easiest way for me to save money on shopping?"

There are lots of low-impact, low-effort ways to save money these days, and buying gift cards through Raise is one of them.  Think about it.  If you're going out to Home Depot to buy some stuff for your house, why not pay for your purchase with a $50 gift card that cost you $45?   If you're a Starbucks  junkie, why not pay for your latte with a $25 gift card that cost you $22?  It's such a no-brainer to me.  I've been using discounted gift cards for years.  I recently became an affiliate of Raise.com, and I'm really pleased with their straightforward discounts and high level of customer service.

Today only, Raise has got a very special promotion going on. If you click through this link, purchase a gift card from either Home Depot, Macy's Starbucks or Victoria's Secret and use the promo code SPRING at checkout, Raise.com will deduct an additional 3% from your gift card purchase.  This offer is good today, 4/18/13 only.

(And don't forget that if' you've got gift cards from stores that you never frequent, you can also sell them through Raise.  You'll lose a little money on the transaction, but better to have the cash in your pocket than to be dragging around a gift card that you'll never use.)
