Our small dining room can't really seat more than 12 comfortably, so on guest-heavy holidays like Passover, we often invite friends just for dessert. Without a dishwasher on Pesach, I use a lot of plastic and paper, but since it's Yom Tov, I like to put out something a little nicer than standard disposable fare. Last year, I stumbled across this Mozaik Appetizer 96-piece set for $12.45 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping completely by accident, and it transformed dessert into a much more stylish event.
If you are more on the green side and hate waste, you can wash these, or run them through the dishwasher (top rack/gentle cycle), and if you are more into efficiency and convenience, you can just toss them after use. I straddle the line somewhere in between, and I'll wash and re-use the dishes a few times but toss the plastic flatware, (since those actually go into people's mouths, yuck, and are easy to replace).
