Bestest Deals of the week, week of 9/14/14

Welcome to the latest edition of Daily Cheapskate's Friday feature:  the 'Bestest' Deals of the Week!
Each Friday I hope to summarize the deals from the past week that are still available and that I thought were the absolute 'bestest'.  It's a way of giving you a second shot at taking advantage of these great deals without having to spin backwards through the site.  These are the deals that were the best prices for the greatest value, got the most reader feedback, and had the greatest number of readers taking advantage of them.  Like I said, just the 'Bestest' Deals all around.

Without further ado, here are this week's 'Bestest' Deals:

Here's yet another innovative product from Israel.  Amazon has the Shoham Pomegranate Tool for $13.22 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping (only $0.99 away from its lowest Amazon price ever, $12.23).   If you've got Amazon Prime, there is still time to order one the Shomah Pomegranate Tool before Rosh Hashana.   (FYI, Sur La Table has this tool for $19.95 plus shipping.)

The Shoham Fruit Company in Israel invented this very clever way of removing the arils (seeds) from a pomegranate in just a few seconds.  Just cut the pomegranate in half, place inside on top of the screen and give it a few whacks, and voila, you've got a bowl full of pomegranate seeds.  The Shoham Pomegranate Tool is the winner of the 2010 Fruit Logistica Innovation Award.

I was really excited to find Brinees on Amazon for only $9.99 for with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping. It's priced between $12.00-$15.00 in all of the stores.  I love the clever idea behind this Israeli item.  You can use it for any food that needs to be stored in liquid, but is served without liquid.  So it works for condiments like pickles and olives, marinated cheeses like feta, stewed fruits, I was even thinking about sliced gefilte fish loaves!  Suction moves the liquid to the center of the bowl when you're ready to serve the item and then when you're ready to store it again, you push the liquid back out to the outer bowl, where the food is.  This is one of the hottest kitchen items out there right now.

World of Judaica has got this stuffed Torah toy with the Hebrew words "ki mi'Tzion teitzei Torahwritten in the center, in two sizes, 34 cm or approximately 13.5 inches, and 50 cm or approximately 20 inches.  This stuffed Torah is a wonderful toy for children to carry around during hakafot on Simchas Torah.  The 13.5 inch Torah is priced at $13.00, but that price drops by 13% when you enter exclusive promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE to $11.31 with free shipping.   If you'd like to get the larger one, the 20 inch Torah is priced at $18.00, but drops to $15.66 with free shipping after you enter the promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE at checkout.

World of Judaica has got this wooden 3D Noah’s Ark Puzzle with animal miniatures priced at $16.00 with free shipping, but use promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE and that price falls to $13.92 with free shipping. (FYI, Parshat Noach falls out on 10/25/14 this year.)

Amazon has got the Braun Forehead Thermometer for its lowest price ever, $26.74 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.   This highly-rated forehead thermometer got 4.3 out of 5 stars over 454 customer reviews.  (FYI, Toys 'R Us has it for $51.99 and so does Rakuten (Buy.com).)

I've been a Burt's Bees junkie for a while now; I love their skin products, but I hate paying their high prices.  I was pretty pleased to see that Amazon has got this 4-pack of Burt's Bees lip balms for as low as $5.75 with free shipping ($1.44 per lip balm).

Amazon has these suede Ukala Sydney Toni High snow boots in black for $27.18 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  Make sure you select the black one only, as the chestnut and chocolate ones are $52.50.    (FYI, 6PM.com has all three colors for $59.99.)  This is a fantastic price on a popular, genuine-suede, Australian snow boot.

Crayola Finger Paints 8-piece set (4 oz. each), an Amazon #1 Best Seller, is now priced at $12.99 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  This set of paints got 4.6 out of 5 stars over 60 customer reviews.  And they are non-toxic and American made.

Definitely one of my favorite deals of the week!  I bought 6 of these shirts for my husband.  Sierra Trading Post has this 100% cotton woven cotton oxford shirt was $19.95, is on sale for $13.96, but use key code STW91114 at checkout and it will drop to $10.47 with free shipping.   Comes in blue and white and sizes S-3XL.

Through 9/20/14. Target is running a great promotion:  save $10 of your $40 Up & Up purchase.  Just text SAVE4 to TARGET (827438) to get the coupon on your smartphone.   This deal is good in-store with the smartphone coupon or online with promo code SAVE10.   If you choose to use this coupon in-store, make sure you stack on Cartwheel discounts (there are TONS of Up & Up items in Cartwheel).   If you choose to buy the items online with promo code SAVE10, and select in-store pickup as your shipping method, you will save an additional 10% on top of the $10 off $40.  Please note that your items must total $40 after the 10% is deducted in order to get the $10 off $40 discount.  And whether you buy online or in-store, your RedCard will get you an additional 5% off on top of all the other discounts.

Amazon unveiled five new members of their Kindle family this morning.  The good great news for us is that the new Kindle Fire HD 6 is now available for only $99.00!  And it's loaded with powerful new features.  The Kindle Fire HD 6 has got an 8 GB version for $99.00 and a 16 GB version for $119.00 (both with free shipping).   What's new is that it now has got a quad core processor that is twice as fast as the previous generation, comes with front and rear-facing cameras,  comes in 5 colors, has got a brighter 6" HD display, allow you to edit Office documents, do web browsing,  has new Firefly technology for watching media, and is running OS 4 Sangria.  And it's all for $99.00.
Amazon is billing it as "the most powerful tablet under $100" and with good reason!   This is definitely going to be the hottest new Chanukah present this year, and I'm thrilled that it's so affordable.

Target has got this KitchenAid Classic 4.5 Quart Stand Mixer for as low as $185.24 with free shipping when you use your Target Red Card to pay for it (or $194.99 without the RedCard).   This KitchenAid stand mixer is priced at $199.99, but enter promo code TGLPTPHF at checkout to drop that price by another $5.00 to $194.99 with free shipping.  Paying for this with a Target RedCard gives you another 5% off, dropping it to $185.24 with free shipping.  If you'd like to get a larger size KitchenAid stand mixer, they are all currently on sale over here.

Get $10.00 off your $10.00 or more purchase at Sur La Table when you enter promo code PASTRY at checkout.  Excludes sale/clearance items and certain brands (like Le Creuset).  Shipping starts at $5.50, with free shipping at a $59.00 minimum purchase.  I just snagged two of these Reactive Blue Olive Bowls (pictured above) for $9.70 shipped with the promo code.  Remember that your order must total $10.00 or more, so if you have an item that's less than $10.00, you can buy multiples and still use the code.  Tons of bargains abound.
