Welcome to the latest edition of Daily Cheapskate's Friday feature: the 'Bestest' Deals of the Week!
Each Friday I hope to summarize the deals from the past week that are still available and that I thought were the absolute 'bestest'. It's a way of giving you a second shot at taking advantage of these great deals without having to spin backwards through the site. These are the deals that were the best prices for the greatest value, got the most reader feedback, and had the greatest number of readers taking advantage of them. Like I said, just the 'Bestest' Deals all around.
Without further ado, here are this week's 'Bestest' Deals:
Amazon has a Subscribe & Save deal stacked with a high-value $4.00 coupon on this set of 50-place-settings Dixie paper goods, which comes to as low as $27.90 (or 56 cents per place setting). Each place setting comes with two plates, a hot/cold cup, napkin, and fork/knife/spoon. Perfect timing for Sukkot!
Here's yet another innovative product from Israel. Amazon has the Shoham Pomegranate Tool for $13.22 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping (only $0.99 away from its lowest Amazon price ever, $12.23). If you've got Amazon Prime, there is still time to order one the Shomah Pomegranate Tool before Rosh Hashana. (FYI, Sur La Table has this tool for $19.95 plus shipping.)
The Shoham Fruit Company in Israel invented this very clever way of removing the arils (seeds) from a pomegranate in just a few seconds. Just cut the pomegranate in half, place inside on top of the screen and give it a few whacks, and voila, you've got a bowl full of pomegranate seeds. The Shoham Pomegranate Tool is the winner of the 2010 Fruit Logistica Innovation Award.
I was really excited to find Brinees on Amazon for only $9.99 for with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping. It's priced between $12.00-$15.00 in all of the stores. I love the clever idea behind this Israeli item. You can use it for any food that needs to be stored in liquid, but is served without liquid. So it works for condiments like pickles and olives, marinated cheeses like feta, stewed fruits, I was even thinking about sliced gefilte fish loaves! Suction moves the liquid to the center of the bowl when you're ready to serve the item and then when you're ready to store it again, you push the liquid back out to the outer bowl, where the food is. This is one of the hottest kitchen items out there right now.
World of Judaica has got this stuffed Torah toy with the Hebrew words "ki mi'Tzion teitzei Torah" written in the center, in two sizes, 34 cm or approximately 13.5 inches, and 50 cm or approximately 20 inches.
