Coupons.com has a paid membership program called the Savings Club. For $10 per month, you have access to very high-value coupons, better than the ones that are available on the free Coupons.com site. I've always been curious about the Savings Club, but not curious enough to spend the $10 per month, nosirreebob. Before I start to pay-to-save, I want solid proof that in the end, I will come out significantly ahead.
Today, Coupons.com is running a special promotion on their Savings Club memberships. They are giving away year-long free memberships to Savings Club. The kicker is that you must enter your credit card in order to get the annual free membership, and after one year, they will automatically start charging you $10 per month, but you can cancel at any time before the free annual membership expires and still not pay a thing.
I'm not afraid to sign up for offers like this, because I make sure to set up an email reminder in Google calendar two weeks before the free part of the promotion is up, so that I can contact Coupons.com and cancel my membership before they charge my credit card. Also, just to be on the safe side, when I signed up for the free offer, I used a credit card that expires late in 2012. Before they start charging my credit card, they'll need to contact me again anyway to get one that is unexpired.
