Double your recycling space: The Crusher for $20.17

Our overflowing recycling bin is the bane of my existence right now.  Grrrr.

In the area of Denver where we live, the city picks up recycling trash only every other week.  In the summertime, we (and our guests) drink enough soda to easily fill up our recycling bin every three-four days, let alone two weeks!  We've been trying to crush the soda cans by hand, but they just don't flatten down compactly enough to really make enough room in the bin.  Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a can crusher.

I spent about an hour researching one that would be durable, reasonably priced and do the job.  I looked at a lot of can crushers for under $15 that appealed to my frugal side, but according to their reviews, they all had the same issues:  they break.  Most were made of heavy-duty plastic that gave out after a few weeks.  The metal ones were really durable, but pricey. No way I was spending fifty bucks on a can crusher.

Then I found "The Crusher."  That is, the Pacific Precision Metals Aluminum Can Compactor here. It got great reviews (4-1/2 out of 5 stars over a whopping 240 customer reviews!), is all-steel construction, and is only $20.17 with free Prime or SuperSaver (minimum $25 purchase) shipping.
    Features:
  • Instantly crushes all 12- and 16-ounce cans to about 1 inch, so space is saved when storing and transporting them.
  • Sturdy all-steel construction is durable, with an easy-to-grab handle that makes it easy to operate.
  • Simply hold the crusher's handle and pull it down to crush a can.
  • Easy to hang on the wall and measures approximately 16 inches long.
I love that is crushes both large and small cans, is all-metal, has a small footprint and is easy to hang.  When it arrives, I'm going to put it right over the recycling bin.

Here's what one purchaser said:
I doubt it's possible to make this product any better. In addition it's very simple. It is certainly worth the extra $10 over the competition. I can't see this thing ever wearing out in my house.
That review (as well as all the other positive ones, please read!) did it for me.

Get "The Crusher" for $20.17 here before Amazon pulls one of their infamous price hikes.
