Clearance on window treatments (nothing above $10!) at Lowe's

Wow!  Lowe's has got a great clearance sale going on for indoor and outdoor curtain panels, valances, and rods.  I didn't see a single item above $10, which is pretty remarkable, and just about all of these qualified for free store pickup.

Changing the look of window coverings is one of the least expensive ways to modify the look of a room.  When we were redoing some things in the house about three years ago, I got rid of some old ugly dark green plantation shutters (with horrible green and white plaid curtain inserts) in my kitchen, and instantly lifted the look of the kitchen by a decade or two.  I replaced them with a pair of blowsy sheers on birch curtain rods, and I've been searching for a great kitchen print valance to top them off (see below for what I found).

Some notables in the Lowe's clearance sale:

I actually just picked up two of these 28" to 48" Pewter Metal Single Curtain Rods for an incredible $5.70 each, because I know how much these fancy rod/finials normally cost. (When I redid the window coverings in my living room, I splurged on high-quality double curtain rods and finials, and each rod/finial set cost about $75.)    These also come in a 48" to 88" size for $6.93.  These are going to be a gift for a friend who is redoing her nursery.  The colors and design of the finials are perfect.

And of course, if you're buying the curtain rods and the holdbacks are on clearance too, it pays to pick up the set of 2 coordinating curtain holdbacks for $4.44 each.

If you must have window blinds, I love the way a valance softens up the look. This 17" long Cinnamon Staccato Stripe Tailored Valance is only $3.75!  Check out the detail on the trim.

I would have loved to get this awesome Waverly 20" long black Home Classics Ascot Valance for $6.22 to top the white sheers that I have hanging in my kitchen.  My kitchen walls are sage green with white moldings, but all of my large appliances are black.  This print would have coordinated perfectly (and I couldn't believe the price), but sadly, it was not available in my area.  :(

As soon as I saw this Parasol 108" Bark Circus Strip Outdoor Curtain Panel for $9.99, I bought two for the  entrance to our sukkah.  I will probably have to cut them down a bit and hem them, though I might be lazy and cheat with hemming tape.

Browse around the Lowe's window treatment clearance sale and see what other bargains you can snatch up.  These prices are super-low and I'm guessing many of these will sell out by tomorrow.
