If you don't yet have a Costco membership, this is a FANTASTIC deal. Living Social is offering a Costco Goldstar year-long membership, and a $20 Costco gift card, and 3 food items, and a three-month membership in Identity Guard for only $55.00.
$55.00 is what just a Costco Gold Star membership would cost without anything else, so right away, you are getting a great deal, even on the $20.00 gift card alone.
- $55 for a Gold Star Membership - includes a free Household card
- Valid for new members only; not valid for renewal of an existing Costco membership
- Limited quantity available
- As part of this exclusive offer, all new members will receive ($146.44 total value):
- $20 Costco Cash Card
- Exclusive coupons good for three free Kirkland Signature™ products ($30.97 value)
- One apple pie
- One rotisserie chicken
- One 30-pack of two-ply bath tissue
- Plus, enjoy three months of free identity protection service brought to you by Identity Guard® (a $40.47 value)
Coupla things:
- I am not one who will easily "pay to save" without analyzing whether or not it's worthwhile. My husband and I long ago figured out that a Costco membership was well worth the cost, especially with all the kosher and Passover food that we get there.
- I also think it's worth it to eventually upgrade to the Executive membership, since it's risk-free (if you don't make back the extra $55 in reward certificates, they will simply refund it back to you), so if you are buying this Costco membership through Living Social. you might eventually consider upgrading to an Executive Membership.
- If you keep kosher and the food that they are offering as part of the perks package is not under kosher supervision, go up to the Service Desk at Costco and ask them if they will accommodate your kosher food needs and swap out the choices for a kosher alternative. I did this when I purchased a Sam's Club membership, and they were very accommodating. I would imagine that Costco would be even more so.
- You are probably going to want to either cancel or not sign up for the Identity Guard perk, as your credit card will be automatically charged after your initial three months membership are over.
All this said, this Living Social Costco membership deal is a GREAT bargain, and if you're still not a Costco member, now is a great opportunity to snag this. Also makes a really nice engagement gift, if you know any young newlyweds or newlyweds-to-be..
Also, like any other Living Social deal, after you purchase it, you can post a special link (that they generate for you) and if three of your friends purchase it, your Costco membership is free.
