How to get a $5 check from Magazines.com (without purchasing anything)

This is a sort of an old continuous freebie, but I just shared it with a pretty frugally-oriented friend and he said that he had never heard of it.  (I always assume that everyone knows the same thing that I do.)  Ok, here's how to legitimately get a $5 check from Magazines.com.

First, get a $5 gift code from Magazines.com.  They are relatively easy to get, as Magazines.com is always running promotions.  If you sign up on their email list, you'll probably get one within the week.  They are currently giving one away on the Magazines.com Facebook page.  Just like them and click on the "Fan Event" tab (on the left-hand side).  Get your code and copy it.

Then, go to Magazines.com/cash, scroll down and fill out the form with your name and address.  Enter the $5 gift code number. That's it.  In about 4 weeks, you will receive your check for $5.  This will work once per address, btw, so unless you own several residences, don't plan on continuously getting $5 checks.  And yes, I've done it and I've actually received a check.  Enjoy your $5.  :)
