My Amazon price tracker dinged this morning. This Chicago Cutlery Fusion 18-piece set, including honey maple wood block had a major price drop to $89.00 with free shipping. Back in January, this set was (gulp) $149.99 and had dropped to $97.54, but I was waiting it out before posting about it. At $89.00, this high-end knife set is a steal.
- Professional high carbon stainless steel forged blades with black comfort grip poly handles.
- Exclusive taper grind edge technology provides optimum sharpness for precise cutting and is easy to resharpen.
- High carbon stainless steel creates a stronger harder blade resisting stains rust and pitting.
- Nonslip cushion grip handles allow for a sturdy grip on all knives.
- Stainless steel plates at the end of the handle convey sleek and contemporary styling.
This set received a whopping 4.7 out of 5 stars over 203 reviews, and 192 of them were 4 and 5 stars. Here's what one reviewer said:
I have had this set of knives for over a year now and still love them. I use them several times each week for making meals and they have stayed quite sharp. It only takes a few seconds and a few swipes along the sharpening blade every time I pull a knife out of the block, and I can cut through a potato as easily as I can cut through butter. I too use the santoku knife more than the others as it is a great size and feels very well-balanced for slicing and chopping. Having previously used cheaper knives, I wanted to see if it really was worth the money to buy a set like this. I can say without a doubt that this has been an excellent investment and I highly recommend this set of knives.
