RecycleBank

Although I've belonged to RecycleBank for over a year and a half now, I've hesitated telling you about them because I tend to shy away from posting about groups that politicize conservation.  I don't consider myself part of the "Green" movement by any measure, though I am very much in favor of not wasting resources, re-using things, sharing and pooling in order to save.  That's the reason I don't hesitate to post about groups like Freecycle or why I love the whole concept of gemachs so much. To me, what those groups represent are the real green.

But recently I've gotten emails from readers about RecycleBank asking what I thought of it, why I've never posted, so here goes. I'll share the information with you, and you can make your own decision about joining. RecycleBank describes themselves as follows:
Whether you pledge to use less energy, increase your at-home recycling or even just learn how you can increase the green in your home and neighborhood, we’ll reward you through grocery store savings, drugstore coupons, and discounts on the brands you buy every day. This way, you reap the rewards of not only brightening your community and helping your environment, but also truly benefit from meaningful savings.

Basically, RecycleBank is a points rewards program which offers most of its rewards as coupons.  Some of their coupons are very worthwhile. They have Coke coupons (very rare) that I use as often as I can get them, Staples, Albertson's and Macy's discount codes, and other valuable rewards. You can accumulate points easily through RecycleBank's many promotions .

So that's it in a pretty small nutshell.  The rest is up to you.
