10 food items I nearly always get on Amazon's Subscribe & Save

I'm completely sold on the money-saving power of Amazon's Subscribe & Save program. I do receive at least five subscriptions delivered every month, so I always get the 15% off discount instead of just the regular 5%. (Amazon Mom members get 20% off, with some limitations.)

If you've never purchased a single Subscribe & Save deal before, you are in luck, because Amazon is currently running a promotion where you will save, not 5%, not 15% but 30% off of your first Subscribe & Save deal.  Make sure you enter promo code NEWSNS30 at checkout to get that 30% first-timer discount.

All of the deals below are for food items that I buy regularly with Subscribe & Save. I certainly don't buy all of these items each month; I stagger them as I need them, and their prices do fluctuate, so I try to catch them on the downswing.  Remember that all Subscribe & Save shipping is free and you DON'T need a Prime account to get that free shipping.

If you are struggling to reach that five-delivery goal, don't sweat it, as I continuously post Subscribe & Save deals under $5.00 (usually more like under $3.00) that will help you reach that goal.

If you're unfamiliar with Subscribe & Save deals, or would just like a few tips on how best to use the Subscribe & Save program, read my shpiel on Subscribe & Save strategies here.

I use Near East mixes as bases in many of my side dish recipes.  They are very easy to make, are kosher (most are OU certified) and are basically idiot-proof.  I get them for around $2.49 each at the local supermarket.  Amazon has got some fantastic Subscribe & Save deals on Near East mixes that bring that price way down.

Don't forget to browse the other Near East Subscribe & Save deals, almost all of which come out to less than $2.00 per box.  They have a really nice variety of selection in Near East products.

We love these tuna and salmon pouches; they are great for work lunches (no mess) and daytrip outings (both OU-pareve).

12-pack of Bumble Bee Premium Light tuna in water 2.5 oz. pouches for:
12-pack of Chicken of the Sea Salmon in 2.5 oz. pouches for:

I use these fire roasted diced tomatoes all the time in my vegetable and blended soups, and in my salsas, and they are delicious.  I also occasionally buy these at the store, if I've got a good coupon.
  • Pack of twelve, 14.5-ounce can (total of 174-ounce cans).
  • Diced fire roasted tomatoes.
  • USDA certified organic.
  • America's #1 selling organic tomatoes.
  • Smoky flavor makes great base for hot and cold dishes, like dips.

Nice prices on organic tomato sauce.
  • Case of twelve, 15-ounce cans (total of 180 ounces)
  • Tomatoes from California's Central valley with hints of onion, garlic
  • Organic; all-natural
  • No trans-fat or cholesterol
  • Use as base for soups, sauces, and stews
(Kosher-keeping Daily Cheapskate readers:  most of the Muir Glen products are under reliable hashgacha (some, like the jarred sauces, are not).  The two that are recommended here are under OU supervision and it should be printed right on the can.)

Our Walmart has these for around $4.25.  This is such a timely deal for me, as it's getting colder now, and I'm cooking many more soups for dinner.
  • Pack of twelve, 14.1-ounces per canister (total of 169.2 oz.)
  • Crisp and tasty additions to any Soup.
  • Can be served as a crunchy cocktail snack as well.
  • Produced with all natural ingredients.
  • Kosher certified.

Even though we're not gluten-free, I like to keep a few of these mixes in the cupboard for when we have GF guests, as dessert is always a challenge with a GF menu. Amazon has got great Subscribe & Save deals on three flavors of Betty Crocker Gluten Free baking mix 6-count packs (each of these is priced the same):
  • $17.17 with the 20% discount or $2.86 per box
  • $18.24 with the 15% discount or $3.04 per box
  • $20.39 with the 5% discount, or  $3.40 per box
I'm told by my gluten-free friends that these mixes go for upwards of $5.00 at the grocery store.
(Kosher-keeping Daily Cheapskate readers, these gluten-free mixes are kosher pareve under the Montreal Va'ad Ha'ir.)

Even with a coupon stacked with a sale, I can never find these RiceSelect 2 lb. premium rices for less than $6.00, usually quite a bit more than that.

BTW, if you've never had jasmine rice before, you're in for an amazing, delicious treat. :)

Amazon has got great S&S deals on Ceres juices in various flavors, like Papaya, Youngberry, Mango, Litchi, Passionfruit, and many more:
All of these juices are kosher for Passover, pareve, under the Star-K.

We occasionally get this exotic juice (I like the litchi) during the year, and it's delicious without being overly sweet (no sugar added).  It's grown-up juice.

Osem Mediterranean Pickles (medium), 19 oz. cans, pack of 12:
These Israeli pickles are also kosher for Passover, but we eat them year-round.

I use hearts of palm just about every single Shabbos, either in a green salad, or I make an easy side-salad of chopped hearts of palm, sliced avocado and fat-free Italian dressing.  It is somewhat challenging to get kosher hearts of palm out here in Denver and even more challenging to get them at a reasonable price.  At the store, a 14 oz. can of kosher hearts of palm cost between $3.00-$4.15.  These Galil ones have the added bonus of being kosher for Passover as well.

10-bar box of Clif Crunch Granola Bar in White Chocolate Macadamia Nut flavor for:
These bars go for twice as much at Whole Foods, fyi.

If this flavor isn't your cuppa tea, you can get a 10-bar box of Peanut Butter Clif Crunch Bars for roughly the same price.
