Amazon has got this 6-pack of LED 60-watt equivalent soft white bulbs for $20.39 ($3.40 per bulb) with free shipping.  (Earlier this year, we bought a bunch in Home Depot for $7.00 each, grrrrrr.)  

These bulbs got 4.5 out of 5 stars over 1,814 customer reviews.  LEDs are much more efficient that incandescent bulbs and don't contain the mercury that you'll find in CFLs (though they do contain lead, please be aware).  They also look like normal light bulbs and not spiral noodles from outer space.  These bulbs come with a limited 5-year warranty.
