Get a 1-year subscription to Reader's Digest for $10.00 on Amazon.  That's 10 issues, $1 each.  The  newsstand cover price on a single isssue of Reader's Digest is $3.99, so this basically pays for itself by the time you've received the third issue.  This offer is good on new and gift subscriptions. 

You can also get 2 years of Reader's Digest for $15.00 on Amazon, which works out for $7.50 per year ($0.75 per issue). 

The subscription does auto-renew, but you can easily shut that down in a click (see below for easy instructions).
