$5 Magazine Summer Sale on rare titles, like Real Simple, Sports Illustrated, People, and more

There are two MAJOR $5.00 Magazine Summer Sales going on right now, one at Time, Inc. and one on Amazon.

Time Inc. owns a bunch of great, hard-to-find-deals-on publications that are currently included in the $5.00 sale.  Today, 6/17/15, is the last and only day for this sale.
The "catch" with subscribing through Time Inc. is that all of their publications auto-renew, meaning that they will bill you or charge your credit/debit card or PayPal account now at the promotional $5.00 price above and then before each new annual subscription term at the rate in effect, which will be much higher, unless you cancel, which you can do by contacting customer service at 1-877-912-3630. Make sure you set a reminder for yourself to cancel close to the end of the subscription.  I always set a Google Calendar pop-up reminder whenever I've purchased a Time Inc. subscription and they work like a charm.

Why bother with a subscription that auto-renews?  I think getting some of these subscriptions for $5.00 is well worth the trouble, i.e. $5.00 for a year of Real Simple or for a half-year of People is unheard of.  However, if you can find the same subcription on Amazon, I would certainly prefer to purchase it there, because it's much easier and quicker to turn off Amazon's auto-renew.

Amazon is also running a $5.00 Magazine Sale.  The great thing about the Amazon sale is that there is a very easy way to turn off their auto-renew "feature" as soon as you subscribe, so you don't have to worry about remembering it for the future (see below for easy instructions).
